  Hi, I just got RE6 for PC yesterday. So i install & extract everything, but after i create a desktop shortcut and run it the game says :

  BH6.exe - System Error

  The program can't start because steam_api.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the problem to fix this problem

  (I did reinstall the game again but still the same, Please help me!)

  • If you're on a Windows PC, check the 'Uninstall' option on your Control Panel just in case it gave you an Ask Toolbar (takes forever to remove when you don't know how). Other than that, it should work. It should go in your game's folder, if not C:WINDOWSsystem32 .

  • I run the shorcut.exe for RE6 just now and it says:

    Fatal Error

    Failed to initialize steam.

    (Why?)

  • Your PC must just not be compatible with Steam. What's your OS like? Yahoo Answers suggests that this .dll isn't extracted when your PC is incompatible.

  • Odd.. That should work. Did you get it as a new PC or was it an old machine that you installed W7 onto? If the latter, than it might have detected outdated hardware. Hell, it could just be that you forgot to get Service Pack 1 installed.

  • I dont think so, its Window 7 and Service Pack 1 already installed by the moment i purchase the bloody machine.

    Why? why RE5 didnt have this kind of problem before???

  • reinstall the game without any antivirus running

    its the antivirus which detects and deletes the steam api dll as soon as you install the game
